G-Land on April 22nd 2010

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

G-Land had some big waves today.  The Bommie was breaking pretty regularly and Money Trees was the best section to sit on.  10-16 foot faces with double-ups on the take-off really made it exciting.  Yesterday and today have been undoubtedly rejuvenating, clearing up any lingering thoughts of the recent pasts average conditions.

The wind came up at about 14:00 from the W and never really backed off.  I just came back from the beach 5 minutes ago (21:00)  and it’s blowing pretty strong from the N.  So….. I am really thankful that I paddled out at around 10:00.  I followed the lead of 2 other guys, and we got some nice, long, walls for about 45 minutes before the others made it out.  No real barrels…just to paint an honest picture, but still some powerful one’s.  It was lacking that last condition…the offshore wind…   My goodness!  There could have been some massive tunnels today.

report for the day….

G-Land on March 29th 2010

Monday, March 29th, 2010

G-Land stopped being so quiet with the arrival of 12 new guests this morning.  But so quiet is relative to there being only 2 guests the day before.  The season is slowly opening up and with each week that passes, there’ll naturally be more of you showing up to G-Land.

G-Land surf picked up through the day.  Late afternoon has consistently been the better time to paddle out.  The sets were inconsistent, but the surf got up to about 4-6 feet on the face by sunset and a few were pushing through Money Trees…but very rare.  Kongs was still the more consistent section to be at.

Winds picked up a little stronger today at its peak…about 10 knots from the west, but because they were so variable, we still had a couple of glassy windows throughout the day.  And once again they mellowed right out for another sunset glass-off.

Full Moon at Pantai Plengkung but no Gandrung.  Next month for sure since there’ll be more guests here to duck away from the sari’s being slung around their necks.

November 3rd 2009

Upon the sun’s touch of the horizon line, all the laughter, story-telling, dancing, and play-fighting solidified my belief that everyone main-lined enough Plengkung panacea to leave this place filled with content. And all the first-timers, unknowingly, are hosting a newly sown seed which will later fruit into a delicious “I NEED to go back to G-Land!”

For today’s report, you can read yesterday’s thoughts and simply change NONE to ALMOST NONE…. 10-footers to 12-footers… deep to (more…)
