Bintangs

G-Land was so fun again today! The sun was out the offshore was good and the waves were pumping. We were getting long ones all the way through from the ledge to the end of speedies and plenty of faces around 10 ft tall.

On the downside G-Land had some really bad jelly fish. Worst I have seen it. A few of us including myself had to go in because we were covered in welts. They were nasty little suckers.

Throughout the whole day G-Land was pumping and at the end everyone was chingin their bintangs and talking about the great rides they had. The vibe is unreal here, everybody is stoked.

G-Land didn’t look much at low tide first thing this morning but it lit up like a christmas tree and the whole reef was a fun two to three foot of crystal cylinders. Speedies was showing some form for a while and Money Trees had some nice long rides all the way through.
The crowd here is really good and everyone in G-Land was getting a fair share of waves. Everybody had big smiles on their faces and cheering each other with their Bintangs at the end of the day. The vibe is good and as I’m writing this at 9p.m most of the crowd have already gone to bed.
John and Dave have been taking some great photos, Dave has been sitting on his board with a water housing and John has been taking photos from the tower so they have bothe angles covered. People from the other camps in G-Land have been coming and checking out there photos here and walking away stoked with their shots.

G-Land was a mad rush this morning with everybody except one in the full camp were organising their gear and saying their goodbyes. A few of the boys were still smashed from a few too many bintangs and tequillas from their last night.

Alot is getting spoken about next year’s event and the organisers are definitely pumped for it. It will be interesting to see how the film turns out from the week here in G-Land.

The waves today were very small. A couple made it out but I decided to rest and catch up on things I have been meaning to do. There is a big swell hitting G-Land from Tuesday and building til maybe Friday so it’s time for rest for this little black duck.

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Nice pulse arrived today at G-Land with 3 to 4 foot sets focusing a little further up-reef than yesterday…a slight swell-direction shift to the west.  I wasn’t up early early this morning cause I drank 2 small Bintangs.  There’s something sinister inside them beers…maybe they’re still using formaldehyde?  Bobby’s G-Land Surf Camp should start pouring Draft Guinness.  Any supporters???

But, by 10 A.M. the offshores had begun their ruckuss with the bamboo and (more…)

G-Land Bobby’s Surf Camp had an even amount of guests come and go this morning, so there is still about 50 people in the camp, nationalities include Australian, American, Hawaiian, New Zealand, Brazil, South African, and likely another one or two I’ve missed. The atmosphere is great in the camp, we’re all in our own little world, (more…)

G-Land gave me a great sleep last night, a solid uninterrupted 8 hours, was great! Came to the beach to see some fairly solid swell still rolling through. A stiffer than yesterday offshore wind came up at 10am, and the game was on in the G-Land Surf.

The swell seemed to (more…)
